Once you’ve mastered how to cornrow and want to add spice to any of your hairstyles, zig zag braids are a great way to go!
Although these braids can get a little time consuming when you start doing them for the first time, I feel as though they're worth the effort!

There isn’t any one way to do this, or any wrong way; it’s all in the way you part the hair. I highly recommend using a rat-tail comb and starting with freshly detangled hair for picture perfect parts.
You can make these braids up into a ponytail, into several ponytails, into a braided Mohawk, or anything else you can think of. Remember that buns and updos are great for protective hairstyles!
You can add a bit of spice to a child’s hairstyle by adding beads halfway through the braids or at the ends of the braids, or by tying several back with a bow.
Some things to keep in mind when cornrowing is to add in the same amount of hair each time, keep the cornrows thin and neat, and just have fun and make the hairstyle look!
