Perfecting natural looking hair extensions doesn’t have to be hard.
With a little practice and skill, you’ll be a pro in no time.
Here I’ll show you how to do a braided Mohawk hairstyle, but this is the way I do all extension braided hairstyles, everything from braided ponytails to simple cornrows.
Once you’ve gotten this down, you’ll be able to do all types of hairstyles.
As always, start with clean, detangled hair. I used Smooth Yaki Braid, and I prefer it over the regular Yaki brands because it’s gentler on soft hands.
TIP! Make sure the hair is one hundred percent dry before you begin.
Start by selecting your cornrow style and/or cornrow designs and part the hair accordingly. Pin the extra hair out of the hair and take off as much extension hair as you’ll need. Part the hair as shown below.
Place the hair against the scalp as shown below.
Pull the ends around the extensions and braid about an inch to an inch and a half.
Add the small braid into one of the three strands for the extensions.
Start braiding hair as you normally would.
Once to the end, add rubberband if you’re doing the braided Mohawk style.
