The term nappy hair, although I find it very offensive and perhaps a bit rude, comes from the thick, kinky curls that seem impossible to style when they’re dry and dirty.
But when the hair is clean and detangled, the possibilities are endless!
I really can’t stress that enough. Your hair is so amazing once you learn how to love it and care for it!
Today I’m going to talk about how to get the tangles out of coils/curls!

To detangle you’ll need:
Then I recommend rinsing your hair out every day or other day, whatever works for you.
STEP 1 – Begin by parting your hair from the top of your head to the nape of your neck, then again from ear-to-ear and clipping three of your four sections out of the way as shown above.
STEP 2 – Next, thoroughly rinse your hair under the water for about thirty seconds. Now add lots of conditioner to your hair and, holding the hair away from the water with one hand, gently finger comb your hair free of any tangles. Do your best here so there’s less work for you when you start combing.
STEP 3 – Then, take your wide tooth and, STARTING AT THE ENDS OF YOUR HAIR, gently begin combing your hair. Comb through the bottom inch for about five strokes, then move up an inch and do another five strokes, and so on until you’ve finished with this section.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 to all four of your sections.
TIP! Never, ever, ever say someone has nappy hair, to their face or when you think they’re not around. Such words have more power than you realize.
