Hairstyles medium length hair!
I’ve been getting requests for more school hairstyles, black natural hair styles, shoulder length hairstyles, and hairstyles for medium hair, so I tried to combine all of those together for this natural hair style!
Alright so you will have to know how to cornrow or how to flat twist for this hair style.
If you haven’t learned how to do either of those, that’s fine because I have how-tos for both of those on the website!
I prefer cornrowing my hair over flat twisting it because I can comfortably do my whole head. However, doing flat twists at the very top of my head is a bit of a challenge.
Mostly cornrows with eight rope twists thrown in the mix for “bangs”!
For braiding the hair you’ll need:
Also, I’m very proud to say that this is only my fourth time doing cornrows on myself and I’ve really come a long way! My arms don’t get tired anymore and the process goes by much faster!
The first thing I did was part my hair in half, as shown above. The whole hair style is super easy, so I didn’t take that many pictures.
After that middle part, I started parting cornrows going straight back and braiding the sections all to the ends. I did that to my whole head, except for a small strip about the size of two of my cornrows. I clipped those out of the way for the time being.
Once I’d finished the cornrows, I flat twisted them up to the top of my head and secured them with a rubber band before pulling them into my messy bun.
Instead of braids, I went ahead and did eight rope twists instead for “bangs”. In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been a little bit bangs happy!
