Four Strand Braid!

Starting a four strand braid really isn’t that hard.

I find this braid a little harder than a Dutch braid, but much easier than a French braid.

The only hard part is holding all the sections.

But once you get used to that, it’s a breeze!

I love this braid and wonder what it'll look like in my hair?

Hmmmmm....

4-Strand Braid Hairstyle

What you’ll need:

Start by thoroughly combing the hair free of any tangles. I did this on straightened hair, so this part was easy.

Starting with a French braid and ending with this braid hanging down your back would look very pretty.

Slightly dampen hair and brush through it a few times to make it a little stringy and easier to braid. This is optional for kinkier hair types, but very important for finer hair types. By starting with wet hair, you'll be able to keep fly-aways at bay.

Start by sectioning hair into four different sections and clipping three out of the hair. Taking the section all the way to the top right, tie in a ponytail and begin braiding.

Begin with a piece all the way to the right and take it over the one to the left, then under the next one to the left, then over the last one.

You’ve done one row, now start the next row. Taking the strand all the way to the right, go over the strand to the left, then under to the strand to the left, then over the last one.

At this point it’s easy. Over, under, over. It really is that easy!

Once you get to the end of the braid, secure with a rubber band and cover with a ribbon or flower. This hairstyle is very simple so I have no doubt that you'll get it simply by looking at the picture. Try doing two of these braids or try going for a five strand braid!
