Fishbone braid tutorial!
Although the heart cornrows are nice, I really only did the style because I loved the side fish bone braid.
This natural hairstyle was inspired by a picture of a cornrow high ponytail hair do I saw on CHIB hair blog.
Cornrow hair designs are fablous, but fishbone cornrows are my very favorite!

The first thing I started on was the most challenging part of the style: the heart.
I first decided on how big I wanted it to be by parting off a heart section, then started the actual cornrowing aspect.
TIP! Like all cornrows designs, feel free to be as creative as you want! Practice makes perfect, so practice, practice, practice!
Cornrow heart how to…
Once I’d finished that, it was on to the next hardest part, which was the fishbone braids! If you don’t know how to do a fish bone braid, check out this post right here for more on that!
I did mine fairly small, going around and back towards the ponytail. I LOVE those braids the very most. Naturally, because fishbones are my very favorite type of style!
Close up of the fish bone braid…
After I’d finished all of that, the only thing left to do was small-ish cornrows going back towards the ponytail. When I ran out of room to cornrow – like I usually do! – I two strand twisted B’s hair to the end.
TIP! I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Two strand twists are a curly girls very best friend! They are super easy to moisturize, they add a fullness that braids just can’t, they’re faster, they’re easier to accomplish, and you get a bonus style when you remove them for a twist out! The only drawback is that they don’t do well for swimming =(
Well will be changing this style up with different flowers/ribbons to match her outfit each day. We might do a bun one day and definitely a twist out soon!
Well, now you have this fishbone braid tutorial and you know just how much that I LOVE the fishbone braid!
I hope you’ve enjoyed!
