After many questions about my cornrow hairstyles and concerns about how many of them seem very difficult, I decided to do something about it.
What I have here is an easy cornrow style for all the moms, aunts, sisters, and cousins who are just learning to cornrow.
I recently got a message from Phillipina in England and she asked…Could you please give me some ideas of what hairstyles I can do to children… like children hairstyles, so this hairstyle was designed with her request in mind! Hope you love it Phillipina!
After you’ve washed, detangled and stretched the hair, you may begin by parting the hair from the top of the head to the nape of the neck and clip one side out of the way.
Once you’ve done that, part the half into one fourth and clip the bottom section out of the way. Now begin cornrowing as pictured above.
Remember to tie off with a rubber band once you’ve run out of room to cornrow the hair, moisturizing the hair as you go along.
TIP! Soak rubber bands in some kind of natural hair oil for a few minutes before putting them into any one’s hair, as well as moisturizing the area twice before putting the rubber bands in.
You can do a fancier cornrow design if you like, but I chose to keep everything very simple this time. Remember to moisturize every night before going to bed.
I had my little sister lean over the edge of my awesome un-made bed so I could Dutch Braid her twists and secured with bobby pins for this cute updo! After that I added a flower and ta-da, a new hairstyle in under five minutes!
If you have any questions or a hairstyle request, please head over to the request a style page and request away!
