Bun Hair Styles

Easy bun hair styles!

This is a requested post on how we do our hair buns!

We bun hair a lot around here because it’s more protective than ponytail hairstyles, they’re cute, and, quite honestly, because they’re fast.

I hope this post helps you out!

Enjoy!

Gourgous!!

For braiding the hair you’ll need:

Products used:

As always, I started with clean, detangled, stretched hair.

Don’t forget to accessorize!

Buns are great for “old hair”.

You know what I’m talking about, those days right before wash day when you’ve just got to do SOMETHING with your old twist out or braid out.

If your hair is very coarse or thick, begin with stretched out hair.

If your hair is very thin, try a simple braided headband to protect your edges. For more on that, check out our braided headband tutorial.

Be careful not to pull your hair back too hard.

If your edges just won’t flatter, lightly dampen the front with a little pomade or moisturizer, tie a scarf around your hairline and that should help to flatter them.

Get creative!

I LOVE high buns but B hates them =(

Mix it up a little! Try any of the following:

  • High Bun
  • Low Bun
  • Side Bun
  • Bun with Zig Zag Part
  • Two Buns
  • Messy Bun
  • Bun with Twist/Twist Out Bangs

There are a lot of different ways to wear this style! I probably wear my hair in a bun two hundred – or more! – days out of the year!

I mean, why not! They’re so easy and they protecting your ends!

Hard headbands are cute and won’t cause breakage!
