Black Hairstyles Medium Hair Length Half Mohawk
Name: Black hairstyles medium hair
length half Mohawk with beads.
(Meaning this style was designed for medium hair length.)
Sorry if the style name doesn’t really make any sense, it was named by a nine year old…
No two strand twists! I finally took a break from those but I am very sure they will make another appearance in the coming week or two.
Overall, I think this style makes a great back to school style or summer style, whichever you prefer!
So I needed to do a hairstyle with beads
for Bunny’s sake AND
I needed to satisfy the anti-natural hair people that would be attending the family reunion that night.
My younger sister really can destroy a hairstyle, so I went with cornrows instead of flat twists like I really wanted (which I happen to like a little better than cornrows).
We got these beads from Wal-Mart and they glow in the dark
For braiding the hair you’ll need:
- Rat tail comb
- Wide tooth comb
- Hair moisturizer
- Hair clips to section hair
- Rubber bands
As always, I started with clean, detangled, stretched hair.
The great thing about stretching hair before styling is that…
1. It shows off length
2. The braids turn out neatest
3. There is no ripping through strands while styling
4. It helps keep track of how much hair is being retained
5. It makes the styles last longer
To begin, I sectioned her hair the day before and stretched her hair accordingly. I started with the back half first, doing small-ish cornrows. Nothing fancy but beads added on the ends of the braids.
Once the back was finished, I tackled the front.
I sectioned out a “V” shape for bangs, then parted the last section of hair in half. These last cornrows went inward, like side cornrows and braided Mohawk cornrows.
I hope everyone is enjoying the last wonderful days before school starts back up!
Don't forget to "like" this post if you enjoyed!
