So I had the pleasure of doing my second cousins hair the other day.
At first I was a little bit nervous after hearing several relatives talk about just how tendered headed she was!
After all that, I really wanted to take my time and do her hair the best that I could, but much more importantly, make it a positive experience for her.
She watched Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never movie and I finished before the movie did and she said it didn’t hurt at all!
As always, I started with clean, detangled hair. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to stretch her hair.
The great thing about stretching hair before styling is that…
1. It shows off length 2. The braids turn out neatest 3. There is no ripping through strands while styling 4. It helps keep track of how much hair is being retained 5. It makes the styles last longer
To begin, I parted her hair in half, from one ear to the other one for a two inch section in the front for her “bangs”.
I sectioned the front into three equal boxes, then cornrowed two cornrows on the sides, and three cornrows on the middle section. I hope that makes sense.
After that, it was on to my signature Mohawk style. I wish I’d taken pictures as I did the style, sorry about that.
I parted the back in half and did cornrows going inwards with a heart on top! Enjoy!
