African American natural hair styles are truly amazing!
There are so many different things that you can do with this hair type.
One of my favorite things to do is fancy cornrow designs like this one!
The thing about this cornrow hairstyle is that it’s a protective hairstyle (which curls love) AND it’s super different and super cool, which the little ones love!
To begin this style, part the hair from one hair to the other and clip the front section out of the way for now.
I decided to do simple cornrows in the front, with much fancier spider cornrows in the back, but when I got to the front I changed my mind and did the same cornrow design as the back.
Once the back is completed, it’s on to the front cornrows, which I did in the very same cornrow design.
Remember that if the parts aren’t slightly rounded, they look like criss-crossing braids instead of spider braids.
- Moisturize the hair as you go along
- Take your time
- Use hair clips to section the hair and keep parts looking neat
- Start with stretched hair because you get the hair in its longest state without the use of heat
Keep on cornrowing until you’ve finished the top and bottom in the spider design.
Once I was done with that, I did three chubby Bantu knots, but you can do whatever you want to!
